Visionary Craniosacral Work™

"to help create an open heart, a clear head, and a free body"

"What the Navajo call ‘the wind’s child,’ Genesis calls ‘the breath of life.’ It is a silent force, a field of chi, which blows through the craniosacral system, animates it, and infuses it with information and intelligence. It is possible to listen to this field. The ability to do this is called 'the heart of listening.' "

-Hugh Milne

Scottish Osteopath Hugh Milne, D.O. developed visionary Craniosacral Work (VCSW).   It is a gentle hands-on bodywork modality that enhances the body's natural healing ability to self-correct and release restrictions throughout the body, psyche and energy field.

The craniosacral system consists of the 22 cranial bones, the brain and the membranes inside the cranium, the spinal cord, cerebrospinal spinal fluid, and the sacrum.

The Visionary Craniosacral Practitioner is taught to perceive the client through 5 extrasensory healing channels: the intuitive heart, the healer's hands, the inner ear, the inner eye, and the empath.  Observing and discerning the client through these channels enhances the practitioner's ability to respond uniquely to the clients needs, whether they are physical, emotional or spiritual.

Holding space with presence and stillness is at the heart of VCSW.  It is in this space of 'active stillness' that the body/mind can begin to unwind and release deeply held patterns of pain and restriction and realign it's structure and energy to create a state of homeostasis and overall health and well being.  As such it can be beneficial for stress related conditions, anxiety, depression, migraines, TMJ and other issues of the head, neck and jaw.
